Norway coverage guide

A national Norway departure widget through Entur

Norway differs from a single-city network: PT Widgets uses Entur's nationwide transport data, so one consistent board can cover many local and long-distance operators across the country.

Independent app; not affiliated with the transport operators named on this page.

Operators & coverage

Operators and modes covered through Entur

Entur brings together Norwegian public transport data. PT Widgets searches its nationwide catalogue of stops and stations, so the operator shown for a departure can vary by region and transport mode.

Scope
Including Entur-covered stops in Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, Stavanger and other cities
Transport modes
Bus, tram and metro

Local branding and line identities come from the journey data, while PT Widgets provides one consistent countdown and freshness model.

Rail and coach

Features that matter across Norway

01

One stop search across regions

Entur's nationwide catalogue lets you search well beyond a single city and save favourites across many regions and transport modes.

02

Mode-aware lines and colours

Bus, rail, ferry, tram, metro and cable modes remain distinct; valid line colours from Entur can be used without forcing one city palette onto the whole country.

03

Scheduled and expected calls

The board keeps Entur's aimed and expected departure times separate, using expected time for the countdown when available.

04

Display styles for different contexts

PT Widgets can choose neutral national, dark rail or regional display treatments inspired by real Norwegian information systems without copying operator logos.

Regional differences worth knowing

Oslo is multimodal, not one operator row

A journey may involve Ruter-branded local transport, rail infrastructure and services from other operators. Entur brings this information together; PT Widgets remains an independent display, not an official Ruter or Bane NOR screen.

Bergen and the west include water transport

Ferries and fast boats are first-class transport modes. A useful board may mix bus, light rail and water departures, so filters matter more than simply choosing the nearest stop name.

Rural freshness varies by service

National geographic coverage does not mean every departure has a live vehicle prediction. Lower-frequency or remote services may be timetable-only while a city departure on the same day provides expected time.

Norway coverage boundaries

  • National station coverage does not mean every Norwegian journey has real-time predictions. PT Widgets shows timetable-only calls honestly when Entur has no expected time.
  • Norwegian departure boards are available, but PT Widgets does not currently offer line disruption alerts for them.
  • The board shows upcoming departures up to 120 minutes ahead. It is not a full journey planner or daily timetable.
  • Platforms, quay changes, cancellations and line colours depend on the fields individual operators publish through Entur.
  • PT Widgets is not affiliated with Entur, Ruter, Skyss, AtB, Kolumbus, Bane NOR or the operators represented in the data.

Set up a Norway departure widget

Use locality and mode to disambiguate repeated stop names, especially when a stop place contains bus platforms, rail tracks and ferry quays.

  1. 01

Save the stop or board in PT Widgets

Search for a station, open its departure board, and add it to your favourites. You can also create a combined board when several nearby stops belong to the same journey.

  2. 02

Add PT Widgets from the iOS widget gallery

Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen, choose Add Widget, search for PT Widgets, pick a size, and place it where it is useful at a glance.

  3. 03

    Choose the source and presentation

Touch and hold the placed widget, choose Edit Widget, then select a fixed favourite or automatic-by-location mode. Filters and display design can be changed per widget.

  4. 04

Check freshness before relying on a departure

The countdown keeps moving between updates. Refresh when needed and check the real-time or stale-data indicator before leaving.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which Norwegian cities are supported?

Coverage is nationwide rather than limited to a fixed city list. A stop is usable when Entur includes it and provides departure data for it.

Does it include trains and ferries?

Yes. Suburban, regional and long-distance trains can appear alongside ferries, coaches, funiculars and aerial lifts, depending on the data available for the stop.

Can I receive disruption alerts in Norway?

Not currently through PT Widgets. Norwegian departure boards are supported, but line disruption alerts are presently limited to Vienna and Linz.
