Good to know

Frequently asked questions.

The essentials about coverage, updates, Live Activities, location, privacy, and compatibility.

Which regions and transport providers are supported?

PT Widgets currently covers Wiener Linien in Vienna, LINZ AG Linien in Linz, and public transport across Norway through Entur. Real-time information depends on what each provider and service makes available. More regions and providers are planned.

How often do departures update?

The countdown advances every minute from the latest departure data. Fresh data is fetched when you open the app or refresh the widget, during refreshes scheduled by iOS, and through iOS 26 widget updates when monitored departures or disruptions change. Exact timing depends on iOS, your connection, and the transport provider; PT Widgets clearly marks data that is no longer fresh.

Does PT Widgets support Live Activities?

Yes. You can follow one departure at a time as a Live Activity with a countdown on the Lock Screen and, on compatible iPhone models, in the Dynamic Island. It stays updated until the departure has passed or you end it.

Why does the app ask for my location?

Location access is optional and used only for features such as finding nearby stops and showing your closest favourite in a widget. You can still search for and choose stations manually, and you can change location permission at any time in iOS Settings.

How does PT Widgets protect my privacy?

PT Widgets has no advertising identifiers, ad profiles, or product analytics. Favourites and settings stay on your device. Crash and stability diagnostics are used only to keep the app reliable and are never used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

What iOS version does PT Widgets require?

PT Widgets requires an iPhone running iOS 26 or later. Live Activities must also be enabled in iOS, and Dynamic Island presentation is available only on iPhone models that include Dynamic Island.
